For any player seeking a program and team focused on instruction, development, competition and fun, the Royal City Reign should be high on your list. Working closely with the club's Technical Director, Ian Wakeling, coaches Shawn Cody (Provincial Pre B), Graeme Bain, Scott Fabian (goalkeeper coach) and Peter Von Riedemann (physio) are extremely dedicated and devoted to ensuring player growth through focused training on individual player skills and team strategy.

Potential players should consider that this team will play in the neighbourhood of 45-50 games per season. Players not involved in other Springtime sports will be expected to compete in the RC Futsal program starting in April and weekly training will continue until mid-June. After taking a break for July, the team will start to train lightly at the beginning of August and building towards the final week of August which will culminate with a week long team training camp in advance of a Labour Day tournament and the start of the season.

For the 2009/2010 season, the Reign will train twice a week for 90 minutes per session, and attendance at the RCYSC High Performance Academy with the Club's Technical Director on Saturday mornings will be mandatory. The team will also train a reduced roster to compete in the 2010 Provincial Futsal Championships in January 2010.

The Reign are building towards competing at the highest level of U13 Gold with a plan to advance to the Metro level for U14. If this level of commitment and soccer saturation are what you are seeking for your daughter, this is a prime time to consider attending our tryout. Moving from Super-8 to traditional 11-aside soccer means that the team roster will need to expand and all positions are being assessed.

Team fundraising opportunities will exist and parents will be expected to contribute to these efforts. We currently have an excellent group of dedicated parents and kids who have a lot of fun and are enjoying the fruits of their hard work and dedication.
