BC Summer Games Coaching Applications 2016
Posted Feb 3, 2016

Any coach interested in participating in the 2016 BC Summer Games, to be held in Abbotsford  BC from July 21st to July 24th, 2016, needs to complete and submit the application form to be considered.

The BC Summer Games features athletes under 15 years of age and is a showcase for these athletes to compete at a Provincial Level.  The Zone 4 Team is open to players born in the 2001 and 2002 years, and must be currently registered in the BCSA System. Ideally these players would be currently playing at U15 Gold, or Metro and live in Zone 4. https://www.bcgames.org/Games/Zones/Zone4.aspx

There will be two teams selected, One for boys and One for Girls. The teams will be comprised of athletes to a maximum of 18 players per team, with 1 Head Coach and 2 Assistant Coaches. The Girl's team MUST have one female Coach.

All Head Coaches must have completed the Provincial B certification.  Interested coaches need to submit the completed application form to Stephen Lowry (head-coach@rcysc.com).  The application form can be downloaded here.  Application deadline is January 15, 2016.

RCYSC has agreed to host the first of 4 Assessment Camps, more than likely around the end of March. Details to follow.  Once coaches and players have been selected, they will be asked to complete an online application prior to June 2, 2016.

Any questions, concerns or input, contact Stephen Lowry (head-coach@rcysc.com).

Kind Regards,

Stephen Lowry

These sessions are designed to help all players improve the technical aspects of their game and are for focused players who want to improve.  Led by our excellent technical directors and assistants, girls and boys can gain extra training to supplement their regular practice sessions.  Several of the club's top players have attended academy sessions in the past, including several members of the 2012 U15 Girls Provincial A Cup Champions and 2013 Boys U15 Provincial Champions.

Boys and Girls "Out" Players (non-goaltender) Academy programs run for 9 sessions and cost $120Click here for more details

Royal City Youth Soccer is teaming up with Simon Smith Goalkeeper Academy again this fall to bring our keepers world class instruction from Angus Brown and Mike Norris, instructors who work with several High Performance League keepers.

The academy will run every Thursday for 10 sessions at a cost of $200 (a considerable discount for the same instruction that would normally cost well over $300 at the regular SSGA!)

The fall sessions start on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 5:30pm on the grass at Queen's Park Stadium.

For those goalies who are playing on the U11/U12 boys & girls developmental teams, you are expected to train as a goalkeeper and to enroll in our goalie academy as part of the developmental program.  It is also recommended that all fulltime U13 & U14 goalkeepers attend this program as well.  Click here for more details
