Boston Pizza Gives Back!

With Boston Pizza - New Wesminster, our club can earn funds to support various programs!  Simply write down Royal City Soccer Club on your receipt after dining with us at Boston Pizza - New West and put it in the Earnback Program box by the newspaper stand at the restaurant.

Attention Coaches, Managers, Players and Parents:  Unless you hear otherwise from the field scheduler or see a notice posted on this web site, you are to assume that all the fields are open for play.  Do not rely on the City of New Westminster hotline... that is for public groups NOT for our club.

RCYSC will try to post information about any field closures as early as possible.  If there are no notices on this web site, the fields are open.  (As always, the referee has final say as whether or not you play.)

If any changes within 24 hours prior to a game the field scheduler will contact coaches directly.

Got a story to tell?

Is your team off to a great start?

Have they done well in Cup play?

Let us know!  Be sure to tweet @rcyouthsoccer AND send both & an email with details and we will do our best to post this for all to see!

Give Hunger the Boot

NWSC “ROYAL CITY RIOT” U9 Girls would like to thank everyone who donated to their 2nd ANNUAL “GIVE HUNGER THE BOOT” – FOOD BANK DRIVE held this Sunday October 21, 2018 next to Moody Park Pool!

With your help, the team brought in nearly 260 lbs of food and baby items, plus over $355 in cash donations.  And, if you didn't know, that cash equals about $1,065 in buying power for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank!

A special thanks to Shiloh-Fifth Avenue United Church for their wagon full of food and cash donations!  (The original food bank in New West ran out of their church basement!)

Thank you New Westminster Soccer Community for Giving Hunger the Boot!

Block Party a Success, Even in "Soccer Weather"

We had a great turnout for our first New West SC Block Party on August 25th at Mercer Stadium despite the rainy "soccer weather". Kids and adults from in and out of the soccer community were treated to an afternoon of fun, music, and food, and got their first look at the club's brand new logo!

We can't thank our sponsors and volunteers enough for all their efforts! We're looking forward to carrying this positive vibe forward into the season. See you on the pitch!

Review the event on Facebook!

A HUGE Thank You to our event sponsors!

Please support them like they have supported us!

Futbol 5 and RCYSC - Building Soccer in New West

We are proud to be working with Futbol 5, the new indoor facility located near the Braid Street Skytrain station in New Westminster,  to build soccer in our community from the ground up.

For more about Futbol 5, please check out there webpage,

The district and league(s) have received two complaints in the last month of play regarding alleged racial comments.  This notice serves as a reminder that racial and/or sexist commentary must be dealt with immediately by the team officials (coaches and/or managers)

The BCCSL Guide states that the onus is on everyone to put an immediate stop to any racial slurs or derogatory commenting.

The BC Soccer Discipline Sanctions state:  (Players who are) Dismissed or reported by a game official or other registrant for racist or sexist comments made during the game or in the vicinity of the playing field either during or after the game – may be levied a 2-6 game suspension.

Decorum:  Team officials must take an active role in maintaining discipline on the sidelines and controlling not only themselves but their parents, fans and substitute players. Team officials will be held responsible for activities on the sidelines. Team officials can be disciplined for Failure to Control.

Investigation: Each complaint is dealt with on a case-by-case process with responses being requested from the referee and both teams.

The district and/or league is not pleased with having received one complaint, let alone two.  All coaches and managers are strongly urged to address this with their teams.

Uniform Distribution Sheet

Coaches and Managers - All teams must keep track of their players' uniforms.

There is a spreadsheet available for download in the Documents and Forms section of our webpage.  It must be filled out and emailed back to prior to you picking up your uniforms.

If you don't have excel, there is a pdf version which you can scan or take a photo of, then send that to prior to you picking up your uniforms.

Teams that do not fill out the form and email it back to in advance, will not get their uniforms.

U5 Program Revised for 2017-18

The U5 program for the boys this year will maintain a jamboree format all season long. The Active start methodology promoted by BC Soccer will be the foundation of the program. We will provide the players a much greater ball to player ratio than the current game format. This ensures that all players are developing at the same time. We will identify and add progressions for better skilled players to keep them engaged and challenged. This program will run twice a week. The same format will be adopted for U5-6 girls.
