RCYSC Treasurer – Job Description

Please note:  This is a Voting Position on the Executive

The ideal candidate for this position would have an accounting or bookkeeping background, be detail oriented, be able to work well with other executive members, and would be willing to have a Criminal Record Check. Knowledge of Excel (or similar) and Simply Accounting would be an asset.

 

The Treasurer’s first responsibility is as custodian of the club’s funds, and these funds must be dealt with according to the club’s constitution and the wishes of club members. The second responsibility is to keep the executive informed as to the financial situation of the club at the monthly meetings and Annual General Meeting with Financial Statements.

 

The Treasurer does the following throughout the soccer season:

*        Prepares a budget to reflect income and expenditure of the Club for presentation at the Annual General Meeting

*        Maintains appropriate accounts of all income and expenditures

*        Issue cheques and pay invoices in a timely manner

*        Record payments for Registrations in the registration system and works with the Registrar to ensure members playing have paid and are in good standing

*        Present a Balance Sheet & Income Statement at Club Executive Meetings and the AGM

*        Regularly picks up mail from the club’s post office box

*        Handles All deposits

*        Prepares Miscellaneous reports & forms as required:

*       Payments to Referees and for Tournaments

*       Gaming funds application & summary

*      Application for other grants
